Math Class update 5.08

Let me start out by saying THANK YOU for reminding your children to come to math class, and for helping them learn how to use Google Meets. On the whole, things have been going pretty well. Please note that there is always a lesson video posted on Google Classroom on days when there is homework (usually MON and WED), for students who missed class or who need to revisit the material. Here is what we have been working on since Spring Break.

Math 4.13.20

Some students have not been turning in their assignments, or submitting the assignment without answers, so we are practicing by turning in the problems we do in class. We reviewed writing decimal numbers, and area of triangles. Then we had a lesson on how to calculate tax.

Homework for Wednesday is to assemble a 3D object from a given net, calculate its volume, and send me a picture. In addition, there is a decimals quiz.

TUES 4.07

Distance Learning Math with Janeen is back!
We meet online M W F 10:15-11:15
Link to join the class is on Google Classroom

This week, we will review operations, ordered pairs on the coordinate plane, probability, equations and area of triangles.

Students will be learning how to multiply decimals, by using a diagram
and by using an algorithim.

Check out my video to see an example problem.

MON 3.23.20

Today, we went over our decimals homework, learned about probability, and I showed the students how to insert a Drawing into their Google docs.

There were some connectivity issues, so to help out,
I have decided to record videos of all my lessons. Video links will be on Google Classroom, so that students can revisit the material anytime.

At Home Math Learning update

Students will continue to do their math work remotely. We will meet M W F 10:15 – 11:15 as usual. using this link.

We are starting Unit 5 of Illustrative Mathematics. You can access an overview of the unit here. Assignments will be managed through Google Classroom, with additional practice using Khan Academy. My class times are M, T, F 10:15 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Students should use this link to join our Google Meets.
